This problem revolved around the idea that Dr. Drew is taking his bananas to the market. Dr. Drew has 3000 bananas and wanted to make it to the market with the most bananas possible. The market though was 1000 miles away. The only thing is that for every mile he walked he ate one banana and he could only hold 1000 bananas at a time. The problem was figuring out what was the largest amount of bananas Dr. Drew could bring to market.
My first thought was figuring out certain things which could really change the problem. After I got all the details I tried finding a way to get the bananas to the market. The highest amount of bananas that I caught to the market was 333. One key method that allowed me to do this was if he was able to drop bananas and then go back and pick up bananas. Go 333 miles before having to turn around and still have enough bananas to make it back. He would eat 333 on the way there while eating one every mile on the way there and back. With this method he would pick up all of the bananas we dropped on the second trip,he was able to make it to the market with 333 bananas to sell. For me this was the strategy After that I started to work with Dylan and Micah to try figure out some other solutions. I believe there a better solution
Overall this was a interesting problem. I really liked working on this problem but I think I could have found a better solution with more time for this. I really picked up this problem pretty easy and found this solution relatively fast. I was surprised that I found this idea so fast because it usually takes time for me to find a successful idea. I believe next time I could just devote more time to the problem to try and find a better solution. Overall a great problem.
