For this project my group was Oliver and Pablo. I think we worked well together we all had things we were stronger in and overall we were able to collaborate well together as a group. I think I could get more work done at home so my group and I do not have as much work to do in class. Also trying to be doing productive things all the time.
My presentation for this project was about the Cuban Regime. I learned a lot about the lifestyle and information about Cuba and it leader at the time of this regime Fidel Castro. My Zine for this project was about gun control and about the two sides to the argument. One group of people saying that it’s bad and that they are the cause of violence and the other side saying that guns are great. I used Humanity's thinking throughout this project for working on everything and also critiquing mine and other's work.
Creating the phase diagram was very interesting’ to see the different for these normal everyday things that we can see. One of the most interesting things to see was the graph that showed how ice melts to water and then it turns into a vapor. All these different changes had different names such as heat of vaporization and heat of fusion.
In Engineering we made Stirling engines. Stirling engines are a type of engine that when working correctly can go on for long periods of time when it has a fuel source. Constructing our stirling engines was harder than we thought. At the beginning of the build we saw a video which showed a working stirling engine we thought it was cool but did not think it would be hard to make. We then proceeded to construct our engines and when we were close to being done we started testing them but our engines were not working. Some would spin for a couple seconds but some would not spin at all. In the end none of the engines worked but it was fun to build them but sad to see them not work in the end. Engineering thinking was used throughout the whole time we used to build the engine in class.
Exhibition was pretty cool. Our stirling engine in the end did not work but we had a great presentation on our cuban regime and also a zine about gun control. I feel good on how I cooperated with my group. We worked well on the work that had to be done. I felt like was strong in communication and being able to communicate with my team members on the work I was doing and what had to be done. I think I could use some work on work ethic. I feel like I need to get better at coming home and doing the work that has to be done. This project was overall good and fun.
